NOVELTIS is skilled or expert in measurement physics in a range of observation technologies and measurement processing.
NOVELTIS is involved in the following fields:
Infrared atmospheric sounding :
- Spectral and radiometric calibration, instrument and system performance analysis, co-registration, sub-pixel surface characterisation.
Ionosphere :
- GNSS ionospheric mapping and sounding, telecommunications/HF propagation, radar signal disturbance.
Infrared and visible imaging:
- Soil classification, cloud detection, surface temperature, assimilation into vegetation functioning models.
Atmospheric corrections:
- Near Infra Red and Visible optics.
Radiative transfer:
- Vegetation, atmosphere, ocean, top of canopy, top of atmosphere; visible, infrared, micro-waves.
Data assimilation and inversion:
- Restitution of geophysical parameters, assimilation of observations into numerical models (atmosphere, ocean, space weather).
Radar and SAR imaging:
- Models of physical and statistical electromagnetic interactions, simulation of measurements on various types of scenes (water, forest, snow, land…), polarimetry, interferometry, ground penetrating radar, multistatic radar, radar simulator.
Radar altimetry for oceanography, continental water and ice:
- In situ calibration, coastal altimetry, geophysical corrections for altimetric products, reference surfaces, on-board Digital Terrain Models.
Signal and image processing:
- Filtering, time-frequency analysis, classification, target detection.
Lidar :
- Atmospheric CO2, vegetation/canopy, bathymetry, continental and sea ice, Digital Terrain Models.
Data compression:
- CCSDS-IDC monospectral on-board compression algorithms of SAR or optical images, on-board compression of multi- or hyperspectral images, selective compression by Region of Interest, fix quality or rate compression.
Spatial gravimetry:
- Variable gravity field, hydrological products.
